Arrangements
If your child is due to begin their school career in September, at the start of next academic year…
We would be delighted to arrange a visit to our wonderful schools. Please contact the school office to organise an appointment.
If your child is already of school age…
We strongly encourage you to contact the schools in order to discuss your situation with the headteacher. You may like to make an appointment to have a look round.
Spennithorne is a Voluntary Controlled school and Middleham is a Voluntary Aided school which means they have 2 separate admissions policies and criteria. However, you apply for places at each school in the same way by using the link below:

North Yorkshire County Council Admissions Policy
As a ‘Voluntary Controlled’ Church of England Primary School, the Local Authority are in full control of our admissions arrangements. This means that our school and its Governing Body do not make any decisions whatsoever as regards the selection of pupils who apply for a place at our school.
For a full breakdown of the admissions policy in use for our school, including:
- The arrangements there are in place for selecting the pupils who apply
- The oversubscription criteria (how the Local Authority offers places if there are more applicants than places)
- An explanation of the process parents need to follow if they want to apply for their child to attend our school
