Safeguarding - Learn More with StayWise

With Halloween and Bonfire Night just around the corner, many children will be excited about dressing up, enjoying treats and spending time with family and friends. Attached to this weeks newsletter is some information from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service with top tips for staying safe while having fun during the darker nights. You may also like to explore StayWise (www.staywise.co.uk), a free online safety resource created by emergency services and safety organisations. It includes fun, interactive activities that families can use together to help children learn about staying safe at home, online, on the roads and in their communities. A quick family conversation before heading out can make a real difference. With a little planning and plenty of adult support, children can enjoy Halloween and Bonfire Night safely.

Harvest Festival
It was wonderful to have so many friends, family and community members join us for our Harvest Festival this week, despite the technical issues the child did a wonderful job highlighting the Harvest celebration and giving thanks to farmers and food producers. Thank you for all the donations of food items, these will be sent to Influence Church in Richmond for distribution in the local area.

Hello Yellow!
Tomorrow is World Mental Health day, so we have been using some of the Young Minds 'Hello Yellow' ideas to explore ways of keeping ourselves feeling mentally well. We have had an exciting presentation from Rock Steady Music this morning and this afternoon have taken the opportunity to think about things that help to make us feel happy. We have been making yellow art work and exploring calming techniques.

It has been a really super first week back and we have been so impressed with how our reception children have settled in to school, they are full of enthusiasm and energy and have really enjoyed exploring the areas of provision. Our Year 3 children have settled very quickly at Middleham too and are buzzing with fresh energy!
