Welcome Back

Well, that was an interesting start to 2025! Thank you to all our parents/carers for your understanding and support during the adverse weather. A huge thanks to all the staff and in particular our wonderful caretakers and Mr Hutt, resident at Middleham, for making sure both our sites were safe and ready for children and staff to use. Our Christian value this half term is Community and I have certainly seen the school community in action this week!
As you can see from the photos, the children in Maple Class have really enjoyed exploring the snow in the sunshine! We look forward to seeing what the rest of the Spring Term has in store. Curriculum updates for each class have been sent out and are also available to view on the school website on each class page: https://fed mas.nyorks.sch.uk/children

What an amazing end to a fantastic Autumn Term. The children have worked so hard this term and it has been incredible to see them all flourish. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents/carers for your continued support and also to our wonderful staff and governors who work tirelessly behind the scenes.

From all the staff and children at The Federation of Middleham (VA) and Spennithorne (VC) CE Primary Schools, we wish you a peace and joy filled Christmas and look forward to stepping in to 2025!

I’m Gonna Shine
Many thanks to all the parents, families and friends who joined us as we presented this year’s nativity ‘Im Gonna Shine’, it was amazing to see the Village Hall so full for both shows. The children worked incredibly hard singing, dancing and speaking their lines. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all staff across the Federation, the hours you have spent helping children learn their lines, choreographing dance routines, creating costumes, preparing the stage and co-ordinating the performances are greatly appreciated.

All pupils in Birch, Sycamore and Oak should be accessing sumdog for at least 20mins each week as part of our homework programme, all questions are tailored to the skill set of each child and are a great way to play games as well as practice maths. From 13th – 19th December we are entered in to the Winter Wonderland National Maths Contest, this is a great opportunity to put our skills to the test as we answer 1000 questions. Everyday there are individual and class winners each receiving certificates, we have had great success in the past, lets have another great effort this time.
