World Mental Health Day
Today we reflected on the importance of good mental health and the need to prioritise and invest in good mental health.

Children spent time engaging in activities that they felt were good for their mental health such as reading a book, dancing, exercising, painting and much more

An update from Mrs Mann
I wanted to let you know that from Monday 29th September, I will be starting my new role at another school. In my
absence, I’m very pleased to share that Mrs Ibbotson has been appointed as Acting Headteacher and will be leading the
school on Mondays. I will still be in school from Tuesday to Friday to support the team and ensure a smooth transition.
The staff and leadership team remain dedicated to providing the best for our children. Thank you, as always, for your
continued support.

Headteacher Recruitment
This week, we welcomed candidates to the school as part of the headteacher recruitment process. Throughout the
visits, there were many positive comments about the children, particularly noting how polite, engaged, and welcoming

Secondary School Applications
The application round for secondary school places will open from 12 September 2025 onward and the deadline to apply
is 31 October 2025. Applications should be made online Starting secondary school | North Yorkshire Council. Please be
aware that the home to school transport eligibility criteria changed from 1st September 2024. One of the main changes is
that transport is now provided to the nearest school to a home address, subject to the statutory walking distance. This
will impact some children where the catchment school for admissions purposes is not the nearest school. To help parents
identify the nearest schools to their home address there is a distance calculator available on the website.
The Home to School Travel Policy and a link to the distance calculator can be found on the North Yorkshire website

A message from Mrs Mann
Welcome back, everyone – and a very warm welcome to all our new families joining us this year! We hope you've all had
a restful (and hopefully sunshine-filled!) summer. The school has been far too quiet without the sound of laughter, and
learning. We’re so excited to see familiar faces back in the playground and to meet our new pupils – we can’t wait to get
to know you all. This year promises to be full of new adventures, discoveries, and probably a few muddy shoes along the
way. Let’s make it a great one together!
