Recruitment Letters for Parents
As we approach the end of another busy and successful school year, we would like to take this opportunity to update you on the recruitment process for our new Executive Headteacher.
As we approach the end of another busy and successful school year, we would like to take this opportunity to update you on the recruitment process for our new Executive Headteacher.
We are writing to inform you of some important developments that mean we must review how our two schools currently operate.
Earlier in the autumn term, the Governing Body and Headteacher were notified by North Yorkshire Council of updated guidance from the Department for Education (DfE). This guidance relates to the provision of education for pupils in schools other than the one they are officially registered at. Legal advice confirmed that this new information is directly relevant to our current Federation arrangements.
Proposals by the federated governing board to restructure the federation into separate infant and junior schools – with Spennithorne Church of England (VC) Primary School becoming an infant school (with an age range of 4-7) and Middleham Church of England (Voluntary Aided) Primary School becoming a junior school (with an age range of 7-11) from September 2026.

you in September!
